Presentation Overview

Dr. Bradley King will lead a two-part session:
  1. AIHA National Update: A briefing on the current priorities and strategic initiatives of the National AIHA.
  2. Evaluating Occupational Health and Safety Hazards at NIOSH: Dr. King will present case studies from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), examining:
    1. Fatalities and hospitalizations in the U.S. Oil and Gas Extraction Industry related to heat stress.
    2. A Health Hazard Evaluation (HHE) of lead, noise, and heat exposures at an automotive battery recycling facility.​

About the Speaker

Bradley S. King, PhD, MPH, CIH - President, AIHA

Bradley King is the current President of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). He works as a Senior Industrial Hygienist at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) in Denver, Colorado. He has 27 years of experience practicing comprehensive industrial hygiene and has held his CIH certification since 2005. Bradley holds a PhD in Environmental Health Sciences with a focus on occupational health and industrial hygiene from the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health and an MPH in Environmental/Occupational Health from Saint Lous University. He holds the rank of Captain as an Environmental Health Officer in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.
