Air Sampling in Action: Career Stories from the Field of IH

Description:  This October meeting is focused on our student members and other IUP students. It is open to all members (max attendance = 20, other than speakers) and 1 hour of technical credit is offered. The entire session is 1.5 hours. The session will be hosted on IUP’s campus and will feature five short career-focused technical discussions that align with the student body’s current learning on air sampling.

​Registered Pittsburgh AIHA and Keystone Section AIHA attendance is limited to 20.

IUP’s Student Section of the Pittsburgh AIHA, as well as students of the classes SAFE 330 and SAFE 430 are invited.

  • Josh Maskrey, CIH – Managing Risk Assessment Scientist, Insight Exposure & Risk Sciences Group
  • Matthew M. Soltis, CIH, CSP, FAIHA – Vice President, Tetra Tech, Inc. (and IUP Alum and former Adjunct Professor)

  • Arrival and Registration: 12:30-12:45
  • Meeting Session:  12:45-2:00
  • Closing and Follow up: 2:00-2:15 
 
The meeting will include 10-12 minute presentations from 5 industrial hygienists with broad experience in various industries, academia and consulting that cover:
  1. Professional Background.
  2. Their career as an IH – what is their field like?
  3. An interesting case study involving air sampling (with technical details).
  4. Current career and internship opportunities.
