Please join the Pittsburgh AIHA on May 21, 2015 for a PDC on Aerosol Sampling and Analytical Methods.
Dr. Martin Harper will provide a 4-hour course on aerosol sampling and analytical methods with the following content:
- High flow-rate sampling for silica - New NIOSH methods for mineral acids Issues of analytical procedures and quality assurance will be discussed as they relate to the selection of sampling methods. In addition, there will be short discussions on recent developments in other topics of interest, such as metalworking fluids, isocyanates, semi-volatiles (pesticides and PAH’s), ultrafine sampling and biological aerosols. Dr. Martin Harper is Chief of the Exposure Assessment Branch in the Health Effects Laboratory Division of NIOSH in Morgantown, WV, where he has worked for the past 12 years. He has degrees and diplomas in geology, environmental science, pollution control, analytical chemistry and occupational health. He is a CIH and Fellow of the AIHA; he is also a Chartered Chemist and Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry. He has taught in the industrial hygiene programs of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the University of the West Indies and has a current adjunct appointment at West Virginia University. He has provided many professional development courses in the USA and in 22 other countries. |
