Please join the Pittsburgh AIHA on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 for a presentation / discussion on Health & Safety in the Oil and Gas Industry.
The event will include a presentation on the phases of natural gas well development and the health and safety hazards associated with each phase. Particular attention will be given to the completions (commonly called “fracking”) portion of the operation, and the technology that has been deployed to reduce silica exposure. Pat has been a health and safety professional in the natural gas industry for the past 23 years, spending his entire career in the Appalachian Basin. He has held positions with increasing levels of responsibility, leading to his current position of Director, Safety – Gas Operations for CONSOL Energy. Pat attained a BS degree from Indiana University of PA and a MS degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Pat holds the designation of Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) from the American Board of Industrial Hygienists. In addition, Pat has been chairperson and vice chairperson of various health and safety committees in his 23 years in the natural gas business including the Energy Association of PA, the PA Gas Association, PIOGA, the Marcellus Shale Coalition, and the American Gas Association. |
