2015 Local Section Membership - Dues Increase for 2015 -
Renewal Begins in October 2014
The Executive Committee has decided to increase the Local Section Membership dues to $25, up from $15. The 2015 renewal season will begin in October through the National AIHA. Remember, Natl. AIHA is now collecting local section dues from non-AIHA members as well as national AIHA members. Local section members are encouraged to pay their dues through National AIHA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has accountability for the supervision of the Corporate Industrial Hygiene Laboratory (IH Lab) includingsupervising two IH lab associates and one part-time associate. Roles include Quality Manager for the AIHA (AmericanIndustrial Hygiene Association) accreditation maintained by the IH Lab, sample management, documentationmanagement, liquid chrmatography analyst, and global customer support for all PPG locations using the IH Lab. This person is required to comply with ISO/IEC 17025, for ensuring compliance with the standard, and to continuallyimprove the effectiveness of the quality systems. This individual is responsible for all quality control assuranceprocesses in the IH lab (i.e. analysis peer reviews, equipment calibrations), high performance liquid chromatographyanalyses, accreditation documentation management, management of laboratory budget, customer support, samplemanagement including the Lab Information Management System (LIMS) and the IH database (IHMap),implementation of any corrective actions performed at the lab including the authority to halt work and withhold testresults along with the authority to state when work can be resumed, and serve as a back-up analyst for gas chromatography and gravimetric analyses. The position shall also function as the approved signatory. The position requires interfaces with SBU EHS Directors and Managers and Plant EHS Staff across the corporation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related discipline with a minimum of 7 years experience; working knowledge ofgas chromatography and analytical analyses; experience in laboratory quality assurance and documented training instatistics or laboratory quality assurance/quality control. Excellent organizational skills required. Knowledge ofIndustrial Hygiene is a plus.
