The Mark of Excellence celebrates the extraordinary contributions made by members and the volunteer community to the industry and the profession. in 2020, AIHA announced they would be honoring these leading and emerging industry trailblazers in a virtual format via social media, as the global pandemic interrupted the usual live event held annually at AIHce EXP in the summer.

AIHA President Lindsay Cook, CIH, characterized the honorees as having “demonstrated unparalleled devotion to keeping our workplaces and communities healthy and safe.” He added, “AIHA is proud to recognize our award recipients for their tireless efforts.”
The recipients were chosen by AIHA’s Awards and Fellows Nominating Committee, which is chaired by the AIHA past president and is also comprised of the past-past president and four other individuals selected from the general membership. The committee represents academia, government, industry, and consulting and includes members at all career stages, four AIHA fellows, and active volunteer group or local section participants. The AIHA CEO and president also participate in the committee’s final discussions to ensure objectivity and fairness.
