The Pittsburgh Section is part of the national American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) founded in 1939. The AIHA is an international organization made up of more than 10,000 members from every industry worldwide who are dedicated to health and safety in the workplace, community, and environment.
Thank you to the attendees and guests that attended the National AIHA President's Luncheon with speaker Cindy Ostrowski. Cindy presented A Field Practitioner’s Collaborations to Produce the Best Sampling Results and also provided an update of National AIHA news. We are pleased to announce the results of our recent elections for the AIHA Pittsburgh Local Section executive committee.
Sarmed Shareef, CIH, CSP - University of Pittsburgh ran uncontested and secured the necessary votes for the position of President-elect.
Frank Pokrwyka, EdD, CIH (retired) - University of Pittsburgh ran uncontested and secured the necessary votes to remain in position as Secretary.
Josh Maskrey - Cardno Chemrisk, in an extremely close election secured the necessary votes to win the position of Director over Ashlyn Landgraf, GSP - US Army Corps of Engineers.
