The National AIHA annouced recently in a press release that Dr. Robert (Bob) Soule is the 2017 recipient of the Henry F. Smyth, Jr. Award!!  Bob is a long time member of the Pittsburgh AIHA and has served twice as a Pittsburgh Local Section President-Elect and President, and is also a National AIHA Fellow.   Dr. Soule is Professor Emeritus at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and is currently the Vice Chair of Operations of the Applied Science Accreditation Commission of ABET, a position that will progress to Chair Elect and Chair of the Commission in the future. He has been intimately associated with the academic preparation of nearly 4000 safety, health and environmental professionals via the development and delivery of undergraduate and graduate courses in safety sciences programs. In addition, Dr. Soule has been responsible for providing technical assistance to private-sector businesses by serving as the first director of the Pennsylvania/OSHA Consultation Program and has directed broad-ranging consultative services in evaluation and control of health hazards as Vice President of Industrial Hygiene Services for Clayton Environmental Consultants.
