Over the past 30 years, the American Industrial Hygiene Foundation (AIHF) has awarded more than $3.1 million to students studying industrial hygiene and/or occupational and environmental health safety. The Pittsburgh AIHA is proud to sponsor a $1000 local section scholarship each year. The deadline to submit an AIHF application is Monday, January 26, 2026! In a thank you letter to the Pittsburgh AIHA, Dakota noted that he was "Very honored and grateful to be the Pittsburgh AIHA Section Scholarship recipient." Dakota worked as an Assistant HSE Intern at Allan Myers Inc. in Fairfax Virginia this summer and will enter his Senior year at SRU this fall. After graduation in May of 2025, Dakota hopes to obtain his CIH and CSP.

Sophia is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Safety Management and a minor in Leadership. She also serves as the Social Media coordinator for the SRU Student AIHA Chapter. Jacob will be a junior this year at Slippery Rock where he has a dual major, working towards Bachelor's degrees in Safety Management and Spanish. Jacob has been the VP of the AIHA Student Chapter at Slippery Rock for the last two years. All AIHF scholarship recipients (including Jacob) were recognized at AIHce at The AIHF Donor and Scholarship Recipient Reception held on Sunday, May 22. Congratulations to Jacob! The Pittsburgh AIHA is pleased to announce that Alina Schlichtkrull of Slippery Rock University is this year's recipient of the Pittsburgh AIHA Local Section Scholarship awarded through the American Industrial Hygiene Foundation. Alina Schlichtkrull is an undergraduate at Slippery Rock University and she is currently studying Safety Management with minors in Human Resources and Psychology. Alina is involved in multiple student organizations, one of them being AIHA. She participated in the meetings conducted by the student section and plans to stay an active member in the upcoming school year. This past year, Alina was the ASSP Student Chapter President at Slippery Rock University. SRU's ASSP Student Section conducted online meetings to keep students involved in the organization throughout the pandemic and from their accomplishments, they were awarded the ASSP Outstanding Student Section of the Year Award. Every year, the AIHF awards qualified students and young professionals with scholarships of varying types to help offset costs in their pursuit of a career in industrial hygiene. With a variety of scholarships available (PIttsburgh AIHA sponsors a scholarship), students in undergraduate and graduate degree programs that lead to a career in industrial hygiene can find varying levels of awards and assistance to further their educational opportunities. Unless otherwise noted, interested students should follow the established application and eligibility guidelines for the scholarships listed below.
The deadline to submit all AIHF application materials is February 1, 2021. All materials must be completed and answered in full and can now be completed using an online application portal. |
