The Environmental Health Specialist is a staff member of the Department of Environmental Health and Safety and reports to the Industrial Hygiene Manager under the direction of the Assistant Vice Chancellor of the Department of Environmental Health and Safety. The position is responsible for assessing and collecting environmental samples for asbestos, lead, noise, formaldehyde, waste anesthetic gases, water, and other potential environmental health hazards. The position is also responsible for conducting ventilation assessments in research environments and the annual certification of chemical fume hoods throughout the University.
