Bernie has recently retired as President and CEO of AM Health and Safety, Inc. 20 years after establishing and running the company along with his partner, Barry Momyer, CIH. He is a Masters Degreed CIH, who has served the IH profession since 1979, and has been a continuous member of the AIHA since 1979. In addition to working in government, and the steel and chemical industries in the early part of his career, he has provided HES consultation services throughout the United States for over 28 years. He has also advanced the profession by giving technical presentations at many professional and industry association meetings, through submission of articles in professional publications, by serving as the chairman of the Western Pennsylvania Safety Council annual conferences in 2001 and 2002, through serving on the board of directors of the Western Pennsylvania Safety Council from 1997 until 2005, and as a founding board member of the Mid-Atlantic Safety and Health Association. He was also the lead founding professional of the safety and health committee of the
Association of Iron & Steel Technology (AIST).
We believe that Bernie’s long term dedicated service to the Industrial Hygiene profession demonstrated by his service and success makes him a well-qualified candidate to receive the title of “AIHA Fellow” this year.
