Dr. Martin Harper will provide a 4-hour course on aerosol sampling and analytical methods with the following content:
History of aerosol sampling
- Sampling conventions and exposure limits
- Inhalable/Thoracic/Respirable sampling and samplers
- Specific issues:
- High flow-rate sampling for silica
- New NIOSH methods for mineral acids
Issues of analytical procedures and quality assurance will be discussed as they relate to the selection of sampling methods. In addition, there will be short discussions on recent developments in other topics of interest, such as metalworking fluids, isocyanates, semi-volatiles (pesticides and PAH’s), ultrafine sampling and biological aerosols.
